I agree with your main arguements here; how does the quality of writing suffer if the "heart" is taken out? That agonizing over the craft to refine is what makes truly great writing captivating, inspiring, and transcendent. What does it say about a writer who deceives their audience with "frozen food"? That isn't what most people want or would pay for.

However, I disagree with remixing not being considered creation - "disk jockeys" create unique sets for crowds, have their own styles, and therefore have their own art form. Sometimes, this art even crosses genres; acts like Injury Reserve push the boundaries of hip-hop utilizing their DJ-sets as inspiration. In fact, most creation is just remixing previous ideas to make "new and curious combinations" (Mr. Twain).

But it is that intentional remixing that reflects on the artist. Through specific influences brought to their work, that creates truly unique art. Creativity is forever complex and dependent on the person. And until AI gains the experiences and subjective reflections that make the best remixes possible, AI will never be able to write like someone who lived.

I write screenplays, but words about music and birds can be found in @Maisonneuve @Raindbow Rodeo @LensofYashu when I don't. Also can be found here!
